Duration of assignment: 12 months (usually)
Seminars: Pre- and post-departure seminar of the GVS

Short version Children and youth work, practical involvement in the project
Description Depending on your gifts and abilities, you will be involved in the daycare (children aged 0–12), the workshops (painting, music, gardening, sewing, computer skills, etc.), children’s church, and the evangelism project in a low-income neighborhood (Santo Angelo). In addition, you are encouraged to contribute your own creative ideas.

Short version Children and youth work, practical involvement in the project
Description The children’s home houses children and teenagers between the ages of 6 and 18. Most are street children and/or orphans who are given a new life perspective at the home. You will get involved by supporting the staff in the daily care and supervision of the children. You will also assist with homework and help foster the children and teenagers’ development, particularly in subjects such as English and Mathematics. In the afternoons, depending on your skills and interests, you can lead various leisure activities (e.g., music, sports, creative activities, etc.). If needed, you may also assist with household tasks.

In addition, you can get involved in our iLead Leadership Program —either directly with students or in the training of teachers. Short version Kinder- und Jugendarbeit, Praktische Mitarbeit im Projekt, Schulische Betreuung, Unterrichtsassistenz
Description The project aims to provide children from all social backgrounds with a good education. As a teaching assistant at the school, you will support the teachers in various subjects according to your skills. In addition, you will help with practical tasks around the school grounds. Portuguese is spoken in Mozambique, so you should acquire some basic knowledge beforehand and come prepared to continue learning Portuguese while in Mozambique.
