Calling-oriented
We nurture callings, provide guidance, and offer support
When God calls someone into global, intercultural ministry, this calling is affirmed both by others and through the person’s own life journey. In our application process, we assess this calling and provide personal guidance on how and where that ministry can be realized. This includes counseling conversations, discerning the needs in the target country, and supporting the first steps in putting that calling into practice.

Calling-oriented
We build foundations, prepare, and send out.
Following the application process, we develop a timeline and financial plan with the candidate to prepare for their overseas assignment. Questions regarding employment status, insurance, child benefits, retirement provision, and similar matters are addressed during a training week, which also includes spiritual and intercultural preparation. In cooperation with local churches, we help lay the foundation for building a support network. Establishing contact with a church movement in the country of service is also an important step. The sending takes place within the framework of legal requirements.

Begleitungsorientiert
We provide support, help, and accompany.
After deployment, VM, as the employer, provides support to the intercultural worker (ICW) by handling administrative tasks such as professional financial management and accounting. It also assists through project consulting and administration, public relations, and donor care. In facing the various challenges in the field, the ICW receives competent support from the VM leadership and staff in Germany.
Furthermore, we support and strengthen our ICWs through Member Care – das heißt so viel wie „Mitarbeiter-Fürsorge“ und steht für eine umfassende und ganzheitliche Unterstützung und Begleitung unserer Mitarbeiter/innen im interkulturellen Dienst. [Flyer download]
