General information
After completing school, the boys from the “Prem Sewa” children’s home are supported in starting vocational training or pursuing studies that match their abilities. In most cases, this requires them to relocate. The costs for accommodation, food, and tuition can vary significantly depending on the situation. The contribution for a partial or full sponsorship ranges between 10 and 90 Euro/Month …and can be freely chosen. By combining several partial sponsorships, full support for a trainee/student can be ensured. | Project 109 – Education Sponsorships India

Career training
The boys from the Prem Sewa Children’s Home complete their schooling after about 15 years at the home and have learned and experienced many other important life skills (see Project 111).
During their years at the home, they discover their abilities and talents, which they can explore and practice within the large home family. At the end of their schooling, each child receives individual guidance and can express their career aspirations. They then begin vocational training, which usually requires moving to other locations, often into dormitories or private rooms.
Many of the boys choose social professions, such as nursing or radiology assistant; some even study medicine. Others take courses in computer science or IT, which offer very good future opportunities in India. Technical and theological training are also options.
After completing their training, they look for a job, and once they start earning their own income, they are officially graduated from the home. At this point, the sponsorship comes to an end.
They are standing on their own feet, matured and responsible, have a job, start their own families, and are able to provide their children with a good and secure future.
Many of the former boys return “home” to the children’s home regularly with their families and celebrate occasions such as Christmas with their younger brothers. Some support the home financially or with practical help. All of them continue to support their own parents, who had to place their children in the home because they were unable to care for them themselves.
In November 2017, the children’s home celebrated its 50th anniversary with a big celebration. Many of the former boys who had grown up in the home and completed their vocational training attended with their wives and children. They were very grateful for the opportunities they had received through the children’s home and their education.
What children say about this project
Giving young people in India a future
For this sponsorship project, we offer two ways to provide support.
1. Child Sponsorship
This means providing regular financial support to a child in the chosen project, ensuring that they are well cared for and supported according to their developmental needs. Sponsors receive informational letters from the project twice a year.
2. Project Sponsorship
This means contributing regularly, at any amount you choose, to support the chosen sponsorship project as a whole. This helps cover general project costs, such as staff and household expenses, as well as additional costs like special activities, major purchases, or social assistance in emergency situations. Sponsors receive informational letters from the project twice a year.
